Family is the pillar on which you stand
They are the ones to hold your hand
Family is the strength you find within
They are there when you find yourself in ruin
Family is the heart in which you love
They are peace much like a dove
Family is the wings on which you soar
Flying higher than ever before
Family is a thing of sadness
When they die it leaves you in madness
Family is the plot on which you mourn
But deep inside you know they are reborn
I picked this topic because my family has suffered from two losses in 2010 when my grandfather died of esophageal cancer in July then in December, my great-grandfather (his father) died of old age. And recently (this week) my stepdads brother died of unclear causes. Then we come to find out that a soldier whom my stepdad respected highly committed suicide.
But more than that, I believe that if there is anyone in the world you need to count on besides yourself, your family is your best bet. Even if you are fighting with a member of your family, you would be surprised at what they are capable of forgiving.
Thank You, Patrick.
